This is one week ago, April 14 … What a cozy picture, with the sun radiating on orange Perkins … What are their 4 ears aimed at? … A cheery, industrious robin, safe from feisty felines on the other side of the window.
The trees are getting greener and greener. See how less leaf-ified they were two weeks earlier, March 30, in There’s a New Monitor in Town.
And speaking of computer monitors and getting leaf-ified … There’s a bloomin’ bigger “new monitor in town”. The 24″ Dell was so immensely impressive, with color clarity and clear glass screen … It just needed to be a tad larger to more easily read a 2-page spread in Media History Digital Library’s Motion Picture magazine, for example.
So, off to Best Buy online to jump up to a 27″ Dell. Picked it up at Jantzen Beach April 8. Just like its little brother (which was returned), it’s a winner!
Notice who’s on the monitor desktop screen? … It’s larger than life size … Perkins!
Now that I’m satellite-tv-free, this is just the right size to watch PBS shows online … free! The second season of Call the Midwife began a few weeks ago, and voila, there it is a birthin’ online. Other over the air, broadcast channels do the same, so I’ve got NBC’s The Office and Parks and Rec at my keyboardtips for a limited time after they originally air (the only two I regularly look forward to on the non-PBS networks).
I’ll leave you with a few fine feathered friends fotos … two robins and a Steller’s jay just outside the bedroom window … from May 5, 2006. Maybe the robin Teeny and Perk were staring down is related … Enlarge the fotos and you’ll see the the robin on the left has a curly topknot of feathers … and the jay has a dark round seed in his beak.
